Keddy by Europcar Chile Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jun-2016 and 31-Dec-2024
An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured at the time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard.
The balance is to be paid directly to the supplier on arrival.
A valid driver's licence will be required. If licence is not written in Roman or Latin Letters, an International Driving Licence will be required.
One additional driver permitted , must present same documentation as primary driver. Cost USD 8 per day tax included. Maximum charge 22 days.
Age for Renting
Minimum 18 years old , no maximum if licence is not expired. Young driver fee USD 10 plus tax per day between 18 and 21 years old
Only Credit Card, no cash accepted. Card holder and owner should be the same as the reservation and renting driver. Amounts blocked on credit card should be between USD 600 and USD 1600. By this guarantee, renters accept a late charge as a result of any extra not included in rate.
Rental Agreement which will be provided to customer at the pick up station will be drafted in Spanish.
A surcharge will be applied ( Santiago TOLL ). It corresponds to USD 9,52 per day of rental , tax included. In some rates this surcharge could be included. Maximum Charge 14 days.
Plate Numbers Restrictions
In case by law or any Government Institution states that some plate numbers are unable to circulate some days of the week, Europcar Chile will not be responsible of unused days refund.Replacement car depending availability.
If the passenger returns the vehicle before of the agreed rental period for any reason, it will not be entitled to a refund for any unused days. No refund will be given also if the customer fails to collect the vehicle at the rental start time and has not cancelled.
All car groups has excess. Value will depend on car group. In Chile this coverage includes a limited third party liability until USD 20.000.Excess : In case of accident/own damages or third parties involved, excess surcharge value will depend on car group. Amounts between USD 300 until USD 1000. Subject to change. Police Report Mandatory.
Roll Over or Turn Over excess, Total Loss, Car Theft an excess of approx. USD 1000 tax included will be charged even if the car is covered by CDW. Police Report Mandatory. Amount subject to change.
Damages or Accidents
Damages or accident should be reported to a police station and present an statement to the nearest or pick up Europcar Station in order to activate CDW in 12 hours since the accident occurred. Police Statement is mandatory to activate any coverage.In case the police statement is not presented to Europcar Chile, full values of damages to own and third parties involved will be charge to the credit card.
To Argentina ONLY and Premium Package purchase will be mandatory. Seven days advanced reservations is required. Renters must send to email@example.com:License and passport scanned, credit card number with expiration at least 7 days before reservation date.Changes/cancellations only accepted before 48 hours ( working days) otherwise full value will be charged, no shows will be fully charged. Europcar Chile will not be responsible if the renter is not able to cross the border if renter did not send all required paperwork within the correct period. Passengers going to Patagonia may be will need a permit to cross border depending on each passenger schedule.
Cost for Cross Border Permit
1-15 days outside Chilean territory, USD 173 approx., 16-30 days, USD 264 approx., 31-60 Days USD 366. Tax included.
International One Way
Is not allowed. If passenger deliver the car outside Chilean territory for any reason it could be, a charge of USD 6000 will apply
Only allowed to certain stations of Europcar. One way to a not permitted station will have an extra cost of USD 2.000 tax included.
Route Assistance/ Vehicle Recovery
Route assistance only includes mechanical issues in route, such as battery or tyre. It could be a cost associated depending assistance. Passengers will be delivered to a safe place or to another Europcar Station. Car replacement subject to availability and must be requested to the station. In case of accident the passenger will be fully responsible for any transportation or tow truck cost of the car to the Europcar Station. This service is limited by geographical distance or if the car is outside Chilean territory.
Personal Accident Insurance ( PAI)
Coverage for all passengers of the rented vehicle in case of collision. USD 3 tax included. Coverage will be only valid in Chile.
Supplemental Liability Insurance ( SLI)
Extends liability from USD 20.000 until USD 267.000 for third party damages and liability. Must be taken in addition to CDW. Cost USD 18 tax included.Coverage will be only valid in Chile.
Super Collision Damage Waiver( SPCDW )
Eliminates excess to zero only for own damages. Third party responsibility still will have an excess. Must be taken in addition to CDW. Cost USD 12 per day tax included. Only will be activated with the correspond Police Report.Coverage will be only valid in Chile.
Medium Package Protection
Reduce normal excess for each damage to its half. USD 35 per day including tax. Police Report is mandatory.
Premium Package Protection
Mandatory when Cross Border Permit is allowed. Reduce excess in all cases of damage and also includes WII and SPAI. Police Report is mandatory.
In case of car theft in Argentina, full car cost will be charged even if the premium or any other coverage was purchased.

We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable.
If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
